Customer Services Advisor

Made for Trade is a multi-award winning fabricator of aluminium glazing systems in the UK, with 3 sites across Teesside. Due to year-on-year growth and factory expansion we are seeking to appoint an experienced and ambitious Customer Service Advisor to join the team at our head office in Wynyard.

Purpose of Job

Our Customer Service Advisors report directly to the Customer Services Manager and are responsible for providing, processing, and producing technical information in response to enquiries, concerns, and requests about Made for Trade (MFT) products and services.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Deal directly with customers either by telephone, electronically or face to face.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to customer enquiries.
  • Handle and resolve customer complaints.
  • Obtain and evaluate all relevant information to handle product and service inquiries.
  • Provide product and service pricing and delivery information.
  • Process orders, forms, applications, and requests.
  • Organise workflow to meet customer timeframes.
  • Direct requests and unresolved issues to the designated resource.
  • Keep records of customer interactions and transactions.
  • Record details of enquiries, comments and complaints.
  • Maintain Made for Trade records and databases
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal departments
  • Follow up on customer interactions in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide feedback on the efficiency of the customer service process

Production Operative

Job Description

Made for Trade is a multi-award-winning company and one of the largest fabricators of aluminium glazing systems in the UK. With 3 sites across Teesside. Due to year-on-year growth and factory expansion we are once again looking for the right people to join the team at our factory based in Wynyard, on a full time, permanent basis with an immediate start for successful candidates.

Duties include: –

  • Cutting, machining and assembly of aluminium glazing systems
  • Working from manufacturing documentation
  • Working to tight deadlines in a factory environment
  • Moving product by hand
  • Working as part of a dedicated team

Skills required: –

  • Positive “can do” attitude.
  • Flexibility
  • Team worker
  • Previous experience of operating machinery and/or hand tools would be a benefit but not essential.

Class 2 Driver

Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen at Made for Trade for a Class 2 experienced multi-drop delivery driver to become part of our operation.

The successful candidates must be committed to providing a first-class level of service to our customers nationwide.

You should be able to demonstrate a high level of driving competence and have a flexible approach to your work. Please note, as we deliver nationwide, there will be single or multiple overnight stays away from home, these are subject to an additional payment of £35 per night.

Main Responsibilities: –

  • Provide an exceptional standard of service to our customers.
  • Ensure all aspects of safety and customer site rules are adhered to.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers and colleagues to update on progress and manage expectations effectively.
  • To carry out any other reasonable request as detailed by the Transport Management Team.
  • To ensure that all company Health & Safety policies are adhered to by you and others at all times.
  • Ensuring all delivery and collection notes and paperwork are correct.
  • Provide accurate paperwork relevant to debriefing of allocated jobs.
  • Keep the vehicle you use clean, tidy and well cared for, so it is ready to be used the next day.
  • Compliance with all legislation including tachography management and planning of driver breaks for safety purposes.

Experience & Qualifications required but not essential: –

  • You must hold a valid Class 2 HGV licence.
  • You must hold a valid CPC Card and hold a Tachograph card.
  • Minimum of 1-year LGV driving licence
  • Good communication & organisational skills.
  • Confident, engaging, polite and friendly.
  • Understanding, calm, professional and a team player
  • Previous commercial driving experience is desirable.
  • Multi drop experience is desirable.

The hours are Monday to Friday with finishing times dependant on customer requirements, with weekend work available subject to customer requirements. 28 days’ holiday (including bank holidays) per annum, the applicant must have an HGV Class 2 and Full CPC for at least 1 year.

Location: Based on 2 sites, Billingham and Stockton (delivery multi drop nationwide with single or multi over night away from home) With an additional payment of £35 per overnight stay.

Mechanical Design Engineer

The Role

The mechanical design engineer will be part of a team of engineers responsible for the design, development, testing and introduction of new glazing systems.

They will design components and systems using SolidWorks and other design tools in a range of materials and considering a wide range of manufacturing processes from aluminium casting to plastic injection moulding.

Developing kinematic components like hinges and full bi-folding door assemblies from concept to production the role is varied and hands on. Engineers are involved in all stages of development and will participate in prototyping, testing and initial factory builds.

Developing and maintaining document records like 2D drawings, specifications, standards the engineering BOMs is an integral part of the role.

The design engineer is a good communicator who can present information to small groups, suppliers and other stakeholders confidently. They are also organised and capable of managing small individual projects.

Working autonomously and as part of a team the mechanical design engineer will deliver projects to tight timescales.

Responsibilities

  • Solve complex engineering problems using mechanical engineering principles including the definition of materials
  • Use 3D and 2D CAD to generate models and drawings of components and assemblies
  • Use FEA to analyse design performance
  • Create and maintain bills of materials
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives
  • Create specifications that can be used in the procurement of bought out components
  • Work closely with manufacturing engineers and suppliers to ensure product feasibility
  • Building and testing of prototypes and engineering samples
  • Workshop engineering – Hands-on development

Candidate Attributes

Essential

  • Degree in mechanical engineering or commensurate experience in a similar role
  • 3D and 2D CAD software competency (SolidWorks or similar)
  • Experience with a PDM system (SolidWorks, Teamcenter or similar)
  • Understanding and application of GD&T
  • Component and or assembly design
  • Understanding of design for manufacture
  • Understanding of design for cost
  • Practical (hands-on) engineering/mechanical skills
  • FEA/CAE
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Excellent teamworking skill

Not essential but desirable

  • Experience or knowledge of Extrusion, Casting, Injection moulding, Joining methods
  • Experience of CNC machine programming or similar
  • Experience writing test plans/DVP
  • Experience with DFMEA
  • Experience using SolidWorks
